Windy Run

Run: 14 miles 8:15 Pace roads

So I know I said training starts Monday but when you're a runner  do you ever really stop training? It was much too nice of a day not to be outside doing something and lets face it I was still feeling guilty about eating the Mexican food last night AND only getting 5 miles in on a Saturday.

I headed to the "rails to trails"... I can't thing of the real name of them but it's a project of turning the old rail road tracks into a bike/running path.

It spans from the North end of Columbus to the River walk that's located down town, which then runs from down town Columbus to Fort Benning.
While running today I passed two different parks and ran across from my work. Had my run been longer I would have ran to Lake Bottom, where I normally spend my week day runs. I think it's so awesome that you can get from one end of Columbus to another without man road crossings and on a nice path. Don't get me wrong, closer to down town you do pass a couple of projects, but it's always nice to make your legs do a little work towards the end of a run.

Today was very windy so it made the out 7 miles hard. I wanted to run 20 but I started off way to fast and mad the best decision to turn around at mile 7 and head back. I haven't ran a hard run, more than 10 miles on the road in almost four months so I was different, but refreshing. So many families and well more people on bikes than runners, but still I pasted a few.  Over all I felt great until the last mile. Man was I ready to be finished. That's the difference between the roads and the trails, the roads lose my attention easily yet the trails could keep me out there all day.

Well I think a nap is calling my name!
