Naturally I didn’t get out of bed this morning so I was forced to hit the streets after work. I was dragging in the office today so after work I took a nap (first one all week) and went to battle the heat. When I say nap I mean all of 20 minutes. I set my alarm and everything! When it went off I almost didn't get up. But, the days of sleeping are over it's game time.
With all the upcoming driving to and from PM ahead of me I needed a oil change. I had mapped a route out that would put me at 5 miles, I could pick my car up and finish the last 2 around the house. Even though it was in the high 80s the run felt great. Mostly because the first 2 miles was on Peachtree street making my way to the hills and circling back. I pasted a guy, he looked like he had some miles on him and was eating some type of bar. He had the kindest smile on his face as I came up to him. I really wanted to stop and talk.. of course I didn't. I can't help but wonder what he was training for... if anything at all. I made it back to my car about 10 minutes before they close. I get there and my oil change turned into 4 new tires and an alignment. WHAT?? On top of that they hadn't even started my oil change. As I stood there, sweat sting and pouring in my eyes from stopping a run quickly, while the guy went on and on about this and that. I wasn't born yesterday. I've dealt with all my car stuff sense I was in high school I'm not going to take some random persons word. On top of that, I had a coupon for a 22.00 oil change and some how he wanted me to pay almost 50. Really?? I ended up paying $38 because I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. I headed home and by this time my legs were cold, tight, and my foot needed to be iced. Yes I know these sound like excuses but I called it a day. If I get up maybe I'll do a easy lap around my apartment in the morning.
After some cleaning, a shower, and a nice convo with a friend all is well again in life.
Friday is rest day! That means spaghetti Friday! I’ll have to drop by the local running store, Big Peach and not Big Dog anymore for some gus for Saturday training run.. not race, yes I know I'm a slacker. I did all my cleaning and laundry tonight so tomorrow I just need to hit up the market, make dinner, chill for a bit and pass out. I'm really excited for Saturday. It's going to be hot and it's going to hurt and the entire time I'm going to feel bad for not being in peak shape BUT the best news is I'll be out there with my good buddy and some new friends! That's really all it's about for me... I just hope my foot doesn't act up more than it is now. I'm really not that worried though.
